QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master's Degree with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision.

2. Valid Tennessee teacher's license

3. Valid Tennessee administrator's license

4. Administrative or supervisory experience in accordance with state law and State Board Rules and Regulations, based on the minimum of a Master's Degree

5. Minimum combined teacher/administrative experience of 5 years

6. Ability to disaggregate and analyze student achievement data

7. Ability to work across academic disciplines with varied audience

8. Such alternatives to the qualifications as the Director may find appropriate

REPORTS TO: Director of Schools

JOB GOAL: To provide excellence and fidelity in instruction and programs for student success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Coordinates and supervises all operations in Elementary and Secondary Education, Special Populations, ESL, School Counseling, Career and Technical Education, professional development, and federal funds.

2. Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation and assessment of the educational programs

3. Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of a program designed to meet the ongoing professional growth needs of the instructional staff, including oversight of a mentoring and induction program for beginning teachers

4. Oversees the implementation and delivery of instructional and intervention programs

5. Assist in the district's testing and assessment programs

6. Coordinates the planning, implementation and evaluation of grade level and subject professional learning

7. Ensures Professional Learning Communities are implemented with fidelity district-wide

8. Coordinates in the program oversight of regular education and coordinate applications, implementations and evaluations of federal or state programs and/or grants in the District's regular education program

9. Assists in the selection and purchase of instructional materials, equipment and textbooks

10. Coordinates instructional improvement plans with the principals

11. Assists in the preparation of the instructional program budget recommendations and administration of the instructional program budget

12. Assists in the selection, assignment, transfer, promotion and dismissal of instructional and administrative staff

13. Assists with all alternative educational programs

14. Coordinates the district's teacher leader initiative including the facilitation of professional learning experiences

15. Reviews and updates board policies pertaining to curriculum

16. Coordinates all system accreditation with outside agencies

17. Serves as system coordinator for grants management with Bradley Cleveland Public Education Foundation and Allied Arts

18. Collaborates with Director of Innovation and lead teachers to create a framework for digital learning

19. Collaborates with at-risk stakeholders in developing appropriate programs of studies for all students

20. Monitors the content relevance and effectiveness of instructional materials in terms of established objectives

21. Interacts with parents and resource persons from the media, institutions of higher learning, private schools, representatives from business and industry, textbook publishers, State Department of Education, members of the Board of Education, and community agencies

22. Acts as resource person for the Director, other administrative personnel, and teachers in curriculum planning, coordinating instructional services of the school, and making more interesting and effective use of materials for instruction

23. Provides a sequence of instruction and learning from grade level to grade level at the system level

24. Approves all K-12 academic field trips for CCS, with the exception of overnight field trips or International trips.

25. Organizes Teacher of the Year (Selection and Recognition Procedure)

26. Attends all board meetings and submits monthly reports

27. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools
